Spring Break 2010 is upon us my friend! If you are planning to make your way down to beautiful South Padre Island and have yet to make your hotel reservations – you better do so as soon as possible. There are tons of great vacation deals, discounts and student savings – but you have to act now and act fast to really take advantage of them. There are a ton of great hotels in the immediate area – but once again, you really need to start booking rooms immediately because prices WILL go up!
La Quinta Inn & Suites South Padre/North Beach: Located about 45 miles from the airport, the La Quinta Inn receives an average of 3 or 4 out of 5 stars in customer ratings. The prices are very fair and the hotel has been recently renovated. There is a pool, business center, fitness center, free parking and free high speed internet as well. You probably won’t be spending much time in your room, but the rooms are clean with each including a private balcony or patio. The house keeping staff is very accommodating. They feature a complimentary daily happy hour with beer, drinks and nachos. They don’t have this feature during March though – when most students are visiting for Spring Break.
Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites South Padre Island: Rated an average of four out of five stars, this location of the popular Holiday Inn hotel family chain is wildly popular amongst vacationers. It’s within walking distance to the beach, very clean and includes a free daily breakfast buffet. The oversized rooms include a wonderful view of Laguna Madre Bay or the tropical pool area. There is also free wi-fi, fitness center, business center and of course – parking.
Sheraton South Padre Island Beach Hotel: Forty-Five minutes from the airport and located right on the beach, this is another well known chain, and also a great stay. They have over two hundred and fifty rooms, an expansive pool area, tennis court and access to various water sports areas. They have one restaurant on site, the Beachside Bar and Grill – and there is also a poolside bar, the Palapa Bar. They have a fitness center, free internet access and parking as well. Overall, it’s a great value for the money, the rooms are neat, the room service and staff are friendly – and customers give it a perfect rating where safety and security is concerned.
